Round Barn ΓÇó The Round Barn was built earlier than most sites along Route 66. In 1898, a local farmer realized that the smaller farms in the area needed a place to store grain and feed near the railroad. The farmer convinced a host of his peers to pitch in and built the round barn as a co-operative. Luckily this building has survived, thanks mostly to a recent restoration project. The intricate basketweave roof is truly amazing. The second floor of the barn often served as the location for local barn dances.
